Department of Pharmacy Practice

This department was established to optimize drug utilization and train students to provide quality health care. In addition, we are committed to providing excellent clinical and teaching services. A team of experienced faculty members provides the skills necessary for students to perform in specialized areas of pharmacy practice via innovative teaching methods.

The department collaborates with the Government Medical College Hospital Tiruppur, a multi-specialty hospital with 692 beds. The drug information centre was established on the hospital campus serves to the needs of the clinicians and patients by undertaking various academic and research activities, services such as medication therapy management, patient counseling, drug information services, medication reconciliation, pharmacovigilance, health screening program, community outreach program, and continuing Pharmacy education program. The centre provides current drug information from standard monographs, textbooks, internet resources, and subscribed databases Lexicomp– Facts and Comparisons, Drug Referential Resource.

The department is publishing a newsletter “Pharmanexus” every 4 months with relevant medical updates and department, and student activities. In addition, periodically organizes workshops, seminars, symposiums, and conferences at the national and international levels.
